Miramare Castle
A white fairy tale castle. Conceived around the middle of the nineteenth century by the Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of Hapsburg to live there with his consort, Charlotte of Belgium, it bears unique witness to a luxurious noble dwelling preserved with its original interior furnishings. Its position, perched on the sea, offers the opportunity to enjoy a splendid view of the Gulf of Trieste.
Miramare Castle is surrounded by a flourishing park full of precious botanic species, and has a charming panoramic view, given its location on a cliff high above the sea. It stands on the peak of the rocky promontory of Grignano in the Gulf of Trieste, and is about 10 km from the city itself.
