There are many excellent restaurants but solely Zigante is entirely dedicated to creating unique dishes with truffles rising the precious tuber of Istria to the elevated position it deserves.
Restaurant Zigante was created with the goal of presenting patrons the possibilities of using truffles in culinary art and it is the first restaurant in Croatia specialized for dishes with truffles. Located in the very center of Livade, in close proximity to one of the most fertile natural habitat of truffles in nearby river Miran Valley, Zigante has a location like not many restaurants worldwide with its source of truffles in Motovun Forest that surrounds it.
Throughout the year the restaurant is offering a carefully designed menu based on fresh truffles, created primarily in accordance with the harvest season of Istrian truffles. Thus dishes with fresh black truffles are offered throughout the year while the ones with the rare white truffle are prepared solely between October and December during high season. The unique meals are accompanied by a well-stocked wine cellar with top regional and international wines.
